Walking
From the central Piazza Tasso in Sorrento, head towards Via San Cesareo. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Corso Italia. Turn left onto Corso Italia and continue straight. You will pass several shops and cafes along the way. Keep walking until you reach the train station called Sorrento Stazione. From there, take the Circumvesuviana train towards Naples. The train ride takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Napoli Garibaldi station, exit the station and look for the signs directing you to the Metro. Take the Metro Line 2 towards Pozzuoli and get off at the Montesanto stop. From Montesanto, it’s a short walk to Piazza del Gesù Nuovo. Exit the station and walk towards Piazza Gesù Nuovo, which is a prominent square featuring the church of the same name.

From Sorrento, go to the Sorrento train station. Purchase a ticket for the Circumvesuviana train heading to Naples. After about an hour, you will arrive at Napoli Garibaldi station. Once you arrive, take the Metro Line 2 in the direction of Pozzuoli. Travel for about 2 stops and get off at Montesanto station. After exiting the station, follow the signs towards Piazza del Gesù Nuovo. It is a short walk from there, and you will soon see the stunning church and the lively square.
