Walking
From the main square in Sorrento, Piazza Tasso, head towards the train station (Stazione di Sorrento) which is located at Via degli Aranci. Follow the signs for the station, or ask a local for directions if needed. Once you reach the station, purchase a ticket for the Circumvesuviana train to Naples. The train departs frequently, so check the schedule on the platform for the next train. After approximately 1 hour, you will arrive at Napoli Garibaldi station. Upon exiting the station, follow the signs for the Metro Line 1 towards Piscinola. Get off at the next stop, which is the Dante station. Exit the station and walk straight along Via Toledo until you reach Piazza del Gesù. From there, take a left onto Via del Grande Archivio. The State Archives of Naples will be on your left at number 5, just a short walk away.
