Travel Guide to Historic Centre

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from the Verona Porta Nuova train station, exit the station and head straight along Viale Piave. Continue walking for about 1 kilometer until you reach Piazza Bra, the large square known for its Roman amphitheater, the Arena di Verona. From Piazza Bra, take Via Giuseppe Mazzini, the main shopping street, which will lead you directly into the heart of the Historic Centre. Follow the street until you reach Piazza delle Erbe, the bustling market square surrounded by historic buildings, where you can enjoy local shops and cafes.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  From the Verona Porta Nuova train station, you can take bus number 11, which will take you directly to the Historic Centre. Board the bus outside the station, and after about 15 minutes, get off at the 'Piazza Bra' stop. From there, you can easily walk to the Historic Centre by following Via Giuseppe Mazzini.

• Walking

  If you are near Castelvecchio, a historic castle in Verona, you can walk to the Historic Centre by crossing the Ponte Scaligero bridge. Once you cross the bridge, continue straight to reach the vibrant Piazza delle Erbe, where the Historic Centre begins. Enjoy the views of the old buildings and feel the lively atmosphere.

• Walking

  From Juliet's House (Casa di Giulietta), a popular tourist attraction, walk down Via Cappello until you reach the intersection with Via delle Arche Scaligere. Turn right onto Via delle Arche Scaligere and continue until you arrive at Piazza delle Erbe. This is the central point of the Historic Centre, where you can explore further.
