Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in central New Kingston, start by heading towards the intersection of Knutsford Boulevard and Trafalgar Road. From there, walk along Trafalgar Road until you reach the first major intersection at the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Ruthven Road. Continue straight on Ruthven Road for about 10-15 minutes. You will pass a few shops and local eateries. Look for signs directing you to Moss Lane, which will be a right turn shortly after passing the National Gallery of Jamaica. Turn right onto Moss Lane, and the Simon Bolivar Statue will be located a short walk ahead on your left.

• Public Bus

  From any point in New Kingston, you can take a local bus heading towards Half-Way Tree. Board the bus that displays 'Half-Way Tree' on its front. The fare is approximately $100 JMD (local currency). Once you arrive at the Half-Way Tree Transport Centre, transfer to a bus that travels towards the downtown area or the National Gallery. Inform the bus conductor that you want to get off at the stop near Moss Lane. After disembarking, walk along Moss Lane for about 5-10 minutes, and the Simon Bolivar Statue will be on your left.

• Taxi

  For a more straightforward option, you can use a local taxi service. Look for a taxi that is marked as a 'route taxi' or a regular taxi. If using a route taxi, inform the driver that you are headed to Moss Lane near the Simon Bolivar Statue. The fare typically ranges from $200 to $400 JMD, depending on your starting point. If you prefer a regular taxi, ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand. The driver will drop you off directly at the statue, making this a convenient option.
