Car
If you're driving from Hakone, start by heading north on Route 1. Continue on Route 1 for approximately 25 km until you reach the junction with Route 20. Take the ramp onto Route 20 towards Hachioji. Then, follow Route 20 for about 15 km until you see signs for Mount Takao, at which point you will take the exit for Takaosan. The address for your GPS is 1343 Uratakaomachi, Hachioji, Tokyo 193-0844. Parking is available near the base of the mountain, and fees typically range from 1000 yen for the day.

Public Transportation (Train)
From Hakone, take the Odakyu Line from Hakone-Yumoto Station to Shinjuku Station. This journey takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once at Shinjuku Station, transfer to the Keio Line and take a train towards Takaosanguchi Station. The travel time on the Keio Line is about 50 minutes. After arriving at Takaosanguchi Station, it's a short walk to the entrance of Mount Takao National Forest.
