Getting There

  • Car

    If you're driving from central Hitachi, head southeast on Route 6 (Kanto Expressway) towards Mito. Continue on Route 6 for about 80 km until you reach the exit for Ueno. Merge onto Route 50 and follow signs for Ueno Park, then take a left onto Route 318. Follow the signs for Yanaka and then turn onto Yanaka Street. Continue straight until you reach 3 Chome-1-2 Yanaka, where Kokozan Daienji Temple is located.

  • Public Transportation

    From Hitachi Station, take the JR Joban Line train towards Ueno Station. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Ueno Station, transfer to the Tokyo Metro Ginza Line and head towards Asakusa. Get off at Nippori Station, then transfer to the JR Yamanote Line and get off at Nishi-Nippori Station. From there, take a 10-minute walk towards Yanaka, following the signs for Yanaka Cemetery. The temple is located at 3 Chome-1-2 Yanaka, approximately 15 minutes from the cemetery.
