Walking
If you are already within Kanazawa Castle Park or Kenrokuen Garden, reaching Ishikawa-mon Gate is a straightforward walk. From Kenrokuen Garden, head west towards the gate, following the path alongside the castle walls. The walk from the Kenrokuen Garden entrance takes approximately 7-10 minutes. Within Kanazawa Castle Park, navigate towards the Ninomaru Garden and locate the main path leading to the gate. Signage within the park will guide you.
Public Transport
From Kanazawa Station, take the Kanazawa Loop Bus (either the Right Loop or Left Loop) from Bus Stop #7 at the station's east exit. The ride takes about 20 minutes and costs a flat rate of ¥210 for adults and ¥100 for children. Alternatively, take a Hokutetsu bus from Kanazawa Station to Kenrokuen. Alight at the Kenrokuen bus stop, from which Ishikawa-mon Gate is a short walk away. A one-day bus pass, costing ¥800 for adults, allows unlimited rides on the loop buses and other local buses.

Taxis are readily available at Kanazawa Station. A taxi ride from Kanazawa Station to Ishikawa-mon Gate takes approximately 10 minutes. The fare will likely be under ¥1000. Note that fares may increase at night.
