Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From JR Koumi Line's Kiyosato Station, take the Kiyosato Picnic Bus to Sun Meadows Kiyosato. The bus ride is approximately 15 minutes and costs ¥500 per trip, or ¥1,000 for an all-day pass. Buses operate from late April to early November with 4-7 trips per day. Be mindful of seasonal bus service periods.

  • Taxi

    From Kiyosato Station, a taxi ride to Sun Meadows Kiyosato takes about 5-10 minutes. The taxi stand is located in front of Kiyosato Station. The fare is approximately ¥1,700.

  • Driving

    Sun Meadows Kiyosato is about 15 km from the Nagasaka IC exit on the Chuo Expressway. From the IC exit, turn left onto Prefecture Road 32, then left again onto Route 141 towards Kiyosato. Follow the signs to the ski area. Free parking is available at the base of the ski area.

Located on the southeastern slopes of Akadake in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture, Sun Meadows Kiyosato Ski Area provides a multifaceted mountain experience. During the winter months, the area transforms into a popular ski resort, offering a variety of slopes suitable for beginners to advanced skiers and snowboarders. The resort generally operates from mid-December to early April. Beyond skiing and snowboarding, Sun Meadows Kiyosato features attractions like Fantasy Park, with snow-based activities, and Snow Land, offering sledding and snowy merry-go-rounds. The resort provides equipment rentals and ski/snowboard lessons. During the warmer months, Sun Meadows Kiyosato becomes Kiyosato Terrace, offering panoramic views from an altitude of 1,900 meters. Visitors can ascend via the Panorama Lift to enjoy vistas of Mt. Fuji, the Southern Alps, and the Kiyosato Highlands. The Kiyosato Cafe at the summit offers refreshments, and special events like star-watching evenings are held. Sun Meadows Kiyosato has a history as a recreation area, initially operated by Yamanashi Prefecture. Known as Kitz Meadows Oizumi Kiyosato in the 1990s, it adopted its current name in 2002.
