Car
From central Yamanashi, take the Chuo Expressway and head towards Kofu. Use the Kofu-Showa Interchange to exit the expressway. Once off the expressway, follow Route 20 and then take Route 140 towards Mitomikamikamaguchi. Continue on Route 140 for about 30 minutes until you reach the sign for Ichinokama Waterfall. The parking lot is available near the entrance to the walking trail that leads to the waterfall.
Public Transportation
Start by taking a train from Kofu Station (甲府駅) to Matsumoto Station (松本駅) on the Chuo Line. From Matsumoto Station, transfer to the Kamikochi Line and get off at Shin-Shimashima Station (新島々駅). From there, take a bus heading towards Mitomikamikamaguchi. The bus ride takes about 40 minutes. Get off at the Ichinokama Waterfall stop. Note that bus schedules may vary, so it’s advisable to check the timetable in advance. Expect to pay approximately 1,500 yen for the train and bus combined.
Walking
Once you arrive at the Ichinokama Waterfall bus stop, follow the signs leading to the waterfall. The walking trail is well-marked and takes about 15-20 minutes through beautiful forested areas to reach the waterfall. Wear comfortable shoes for the hike.
