From Zao Onsen, take Prefectural Route 28 (Yamagata Zao Line) north towards the Zao Ski Resort area. The drive takes about 15-20 minutes. Follow the signs for Zao Juhyou (Zao Snow Monsters) and park at the Zao Onsen Ski Resort parking lot. Note that parking fees may apply, typically around 500-1000 yen depending on the season. After parking, you can take the Zao Ropeway from the ski resort to the upper station, which takes approximately 15 minutes.

From Zao Onsen, walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located near the Zao Onsen Tourist Information Center. Take the Zao Onsen Bus (Juhyou Kankou Bus) heading towards the Zao Juhyou area.
