Getting There

  If you are driving, take I-35 S from your location. Depending on your starting point, you will merge onto I-35 S toward Wichita. Continue on I-35 S for approximately 20 miles. Take exit 222B for US-69 S toward Fort Scott. Merge onto US-69 S and continue for about 10 miles. Take the exit for 179th St and turn left onto W 179th St. The Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens will be on your left at 8909 W 179th St, Overland Park, KS 66013. Parking is available on-site, and there is usually no entry fee.

  For public transportation, start by finding the nearest bus service that connects to the Johnson County Transit (JCT). If you are near the Kansas City area, take the JCT bus route that heads to Overland Park. You may need to transfer buses depending on your starting location. The closest bus stop to the Arboretum is on 179th St. Once you arrive at the stop, you can walk approximately 0.5 miles west to reach the entrance of Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens at 8909 W 179th St. Be sure to check the JCT schedule for times and plan for potential waiting times.
