Car
If you are traveling by car from the main entrance of Amboseli National Park, head east on the main dirt road. Continue for about 10 kilometers until you reach the Ol Tukai area. Look for the signposts directing you to KWS Campsite. The campsite is located at the coordinates 797C+H5C, which is approximately 2 kilometers off the main road, accessible via a clearly marked dirt track. Be sure to keep an eye out for wildlife on the road, especially during early morning or late afternoon.
Public Transportation
For those using public transportation, you can take a matatu (shared taxi) from the nearest town (Namanga) to Amboseli National Park. Upon arrival at the park entrance, you will need to hire a local taxi to take you to KWS Campsite. Inform the driver that you want to go to Ol Tukai, where the campsite is located. The fare for the taxi ride should range between 2,000 to 3,000 Kenyan Shillings. Make sure to agree on the price before starting your journey.
Walking
If you are already within Amboseli National Park and prefer walking, you can trek from the main park gates towards the KWS Campsite. The walk is approximately 5 kilometers and will take you through beautiful landscapes and potential wildlife sightings. Ensure you have a knowledgeable guide, as walking in the park requires awareness of safety protocols regarding wildlife.
