Bicycle
From your location in Diani Beach, head north towards the main road, Diani Beach Road. Follow the road until you reach the intersection with the Ukunda - Diani Road. Turn left onto Ukunda - Diani Road and continue until you reach the junction with the Mombasa - Ukunda Road (A14). Continue on this road, passing through Ukunda Town. After about 5 kilometers, keep an eye out for the Kiembeni Road sign on your left. Turn left onto Kiembeni Road and continue for about 2 kilometers. The Nguuni Nature Sanctuary will be on your right.
Walking
Start at the Diani Beach Shopping Centre and walk north along Diani Beach Road. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Ukunda - Diani Road. Cross the road to your left and follow Ukunda - Diani Road until you reach Ukunda Town. Once you get to Ukunda, ask locals for directions to Kiembeni Road; it's about a 5-kilometer walk from here. When you reach Kiembeni Road, turn left and walk for about 2 kilometers. Nguuni Nature Sanctuary will be on your right.
Tuk-Tuk
Find a tuk-tuk (also known as a boda boda) in Diani Beach. Tell the driver you want to go to Nguuni Nature Sanctuary, off Kiembeni Road in Mombasa. The driver will take you along Diani Beach Road, passing through Ukunda Town and onto Mombasa - Ukunda Road (A14). They will turn left onto Kiembeni Road, and after a short drive, you will arrive at Nguuni Nature Sanctuary. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey.
Public Bus (Matatu)
Head to the nearest matatu stop in Diani Beach, typically found near the Diani Beach Shopping Centre. Board a matatu heading towards Ukunda Town. Once you arrive in Ukunda, switch to a matatu heading towards Mombasa. Ask the conductor to drop you off at the Kiembeni Road junction. From there, it’s a short walk to Nguuni Nature Sanctuary, which will be on your right after a 2-kilometer walk down Kiembeni Road.
