Getting There

Matatu
From Kisumu CBD, walk to the nearest matatu stage, which is usually located around Oginga Odinga Street or Kenyatta Avenue. Look for matatus heading towards Nyahera or Maseno. The fare is approximately 50-100 Kenyan Shillings. Board the matatu and inform the conductor that you are going to Nyahera. The journey should take about 15-20 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the Nyahera junction.

Boda Boda
After getting off at the Nyahera junction, you can hire a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you directly to Abindu Caves. The fare is around 50-100 Kenyan Shillings. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting the ride. The caves are about 5-10 minutes away from the junction, and the boda boda will take you right to the entrance.

If you prefer to walk, from the Nyahera junction, head northwest on the road leading towards the Abindu area. Look for local signs or ask residents for directions to Abindu Caves. It's about 1.5 kilometers from the junction, and the walk should take around 20-30 minutes. Follow the main road, and you will eventually reach the caves.
