From Lamu town, head northwest towards the Lamu Fort. Continue riding along the waterfront until you reach the end of the road. Turn left onto the main road leading out of town. Follow this road for approximately 10 minutes. You will pass several local shops and homes. Look for signs pointing towards Mkomani. Once you reach Mkomani, continue straight until you see a dirt path leading to Wiyoni Beach on your right. Follow this path until you reach the beach.
Boat
Start at the Lamu Old Town and make your way to the main jetty. Look for a local boat operator offering rides to Mkomani. Negotiate a fare, usually around 200-500 KES depending on the boat and the number of passengers. The boat ride will take approximately 15-20 minutes. Once you disembark at Mkomani, you can ask locals for directions to Wiyoni Beach, which is a short walk from the jetty.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, exit Lamu town and head towards the main road. Walk straight towards Mkomani; it will take about an hour on foot. Along the way, enjoy the scenic views of the coastline. Once you reach Mkomani, ask locals for directions to Wiyoni Beach. Follow the dirt path leading towards the beach.
Tuk-Tuk
From Lamu town, you can hire a tuk-tuk from the main square. Inform the driver that you want to go to Wiyoni Beach. The ride should take about 15 minutes. The tuk-tuk will take you through Mkomani, and you can ask the driver to drop you off as close to the beach as possible.
