Getting There

  • Walking

    Start your journey at the Gjakova City Center (Mali I Shtimes). From the center, head east on Rruga Ismail Qemali toward Rruga Ramush Haradinaj. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Rruga Zahir Pajaziti. Turn left onto Rruga Zahir Pajaziti and follow this road for approximately 1 km. You will pass by several shops and cafes along the way. Once you reach the end of Rruga Zahir Pajaziti, you will come to a roundabout. Take the first exit onto Rruga e Dibrës. After 200 meters, you will see a sign for Prizren, directing you toward the bus station. Continue straight until you reach the bus station, where you can catch a bus to Prizren. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes.

    Once you arrive at the Prizren bus station, exit the bus and head toward the main street (Rruga Shkembi i Dajti). Walk straight along this road for about 10 minutes. You will pass by various local shops and eateries. As you approach the hill where Prizren Fortress is located, you will see a sign pointing toward the fortress. Turn left onto the path leading up the hill. The path is well-marked and has several steps. Continue walking uphill for approximately 15 minutes until you reach the entrance of Prizren Fortress.

    If you prefer to walk from the city center in Gjakova directly to Prizren, head south from the city center along Rruga e Dibrës toward the border with Prizren. This is a longer journey of about 18 km, taking approximately 4-5 hours. Ensure you are prepared for a longer trek, as it involves rural paths and some elevation changes.
