Getting there

Car

From Muang Xai, the capital of Oudomxay province, Namkat Waterfall is approximately a 1- to 2-hour drive. The most direct route is to head northeast on Route 13, then follow signs for the Nam Kat Yorlapa Eco-Tourism Project. Note that the road can be rough in places. Taxis or tuk-tuks can be hired in Muang Xai for a day trip. Expect to pay around 300,000-400,000 LAK for a round trip.

Resort Shuttle

Many visitors access the waterfall through the Nam Kat Yorlapa Resort. The resort offers various packages, including transportation to the waterfall entrance, trekking, and access to activities like ziplining. Contact the resort in advance to arrange transportation and inquire about pricing. A resort car will take you closer to the waterfall, followed by a trek.
