    From the Kuldiga Town Hall, walk east on Baznīcas iela, then turn right onto Pils iela. Continue on Pils iela for a few minutes; the museum will be on your left at Pils iela 5. The walk is approximately 500 meters and should take about 5-10 minutes.

  • Public Transport

    If arriving by bus at the Kuldiga Bus Station, walk north on Stacijas iela, then turn left onto Liepājas iela. Turn right onto Baznīcas iela, then right again onto Pils iela. The museum will be on your left. The walk is approximately 1 kilometer and should take about 15 minutes. A local bus from the bus station to the town center costs around €1.

    From the Abava River Valley, head towards Kuldiga. Take the A10 road heading west and follow the signs for Kuldiga. Exit onto Pils iela and continue straight. The Kuldiga District Museum is located at Pils iela 5, which will be on your right. Parking is available nearby, but check for any parking fees. Parking fees around Kuldiga range from €1-2 per hour.

The museum also hosts temporary exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year.The museum itself is located in a beautiful area of Kuldiga, near the Venta waterfall (Ventas Rumba), the widest waterfall in Europe. The City Gardens, created on the site of the former Livonian Order castle, surround the museum.
