Getting There

• Walking

  From the center of Leribe, start at the Leribe Bus Station. Head east on the main road (Mokhotlong Road) for about 1 km until you reach the junction with the A1 road. Turn left onto A1. Continue walking along A1 for approximately 6 km. You will pass by various small shops and local residences along the way. After 6 km, you will see a sign pointing towards Mafika Lisiu Pass. Turn right onto the gravel road. The road will wind upwards and you should walk for about 4 km. Keep an eye out for local people or signs for directions. After about 4 km, you will reach the Mafika Lisiu Pass View Point, where you can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains.

• Hiking

  If you are feeling adventurous, you can hike directly to Mafika Lisiu Pass View Point. Start your hike from Leribe, heading towards the A1 road. As you walk along the A1, look for trails leading off towards the mountains. The hike can take approximately 3-4 hours depending on your pace. Follow the trails that lead you up towards the pass, and be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks. The views along the way are breathtaking, and you will find various spots perfect for photos.

• Local Transport

  If you prefer not to walk, consider using local transport options like shared taxis (known as 'kombis'). From Leribe, head to the main taxi rank near the bus station. You can find kombis heading towards Mafika Lisiu Pass. Make sure to ask the driver if they will take you to the view point. The fare is usually affordable, and the ride will take around 30 minutes. Once dropped off, it is a short walk to the viewpoint. Ask locals for guidance if needed.
