Kunstraum Engländerbau: A Contemporary Art Space in Vaduz

Kunstraum Engländerbau, situated in the iconic Engländerbau building in Vaduz, serves as a vibrant center for contemporary art in Liechtenstein. The art space is located on the second floor of the building. The building itself has a rich history, initially constructed in 1933/1934 as the headquarters for a British lottery company and later housing a dental factory and a radio station. In 1944, the State of Liechtenstein acquired the building, utilizing it as an exhibition space for the Princely Art Collection. Since 2002, following the collection's relocation to the Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, the Engländerbau has been dedicated to showcasing contemporary art. The Kunstraum Engländerbau is managed by the Liechtenstein Cultural Foundation and serves as an exhibition platform primarily for contemporary art from Liechtenstein and the surrounding region. The space aims to promote artistic creation in all its forms, fostering interaction and exchange between regional, national, and international art scenes. Each year, the Kunstraum hosts four to five solo or group exhibitions, accompanied by a varied program of events.
