From Oberriet, Bahnhof, take bus 332 towards Kobelwald or bus 335 towards Altstätten SG, Stadt. Get off at Oberriet SG, Post. From there, walk north on Hauptstrasse (Route 13) for about 1.5 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to Wichenstein Nature Reserve. Follow the signs, and the entrance to the reserve will be on your left. A single fare on the bus is approximately CHF 3.

From the center of Oberriet, head north on Hauptstrasse (Route 13). Continue for approximately 1.5 kilometers until you see signs directing you to Wichenstein Nature Reserve. Follow the signs, and the entrance to the reserve will be on your left. The walk from the center of Oberriet takes approximately 20-25 minutes.

There are parking spaces available near the Swiss family fireplace. From there, it is a 15-40 minute walk to the cave castle, depending on the route you choose around the lake. Parking costs are not available.
