Getting There

  • Bus

    From the center of Utena, head to the Utena bus station located at J. Basanavičiaus g. 14. Look for buses heading to Ignalina, as they frequently stop at various points in the Ignalina District. The journey to Ignalina will take around 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Ignalina, disembark at the main bus station.

  • Walking

    After arriving at the Ignalina bus station, exit the station and head southwest on Maironio g. toward the main road (A16). Turn left on A16 and follow the signs for Aukštaitija National Park. The park is approximately 5 km away from the bus station, which will take about 1 hour to walk. You will pass through beautiful landscapes, so enjoy the scenery along the way.

  • Bicycle

    If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from a local shop in Utena before your journey. Take the same bus to Ignalina, and once you arrive, cycle along the A16 road towards Aukštaitija National Park. The cycling distance is about 5 km, and it should take around 20-30 minutes, depending on your pace.
