From the French Quarter, walk to the Canal Street streetcar line. Board the streetcar heading towards City Park. Ride the streetcar until you reach the end of the line at the City Park terminal. Once you arrive, transfer to the #55 bus (Lakeshore Drive) at the City Park bus stop. Ride the #55 bus for about 15 minutes until you reach the stop at Lakeshore Drive and West End Blvd. From the bus stop, walk north along Lakeshore Drive for approximately 10 minutes, and you will arrive at New Canal Lighthouse, located at 8001 Lakeshore Dr.

If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from one of the local rental shops in the French Quarter. Head towards Esplanade Avenue and take a left onto Esplanade. Continue until you reach the end and turn right onto North Broad Street. Ride North Broad until you reach the intersection with Lakeshore Drive. Turn left onto Lakeshore Drive and continue cycling until you reach New Canal Lighthouse at 8001 Lakeshore Dr.
