Start from Jackson Square in the French Quarter. Exit the square towards Chartres Street. Walk north on Chartres Street for about 2 blocks until you reach Ursulines Avenue. Turn left onto Ursulines Avenue and continue walking until you reach the intersection with North Rampart Street. Cross North Rampart Street and continue straight onto Saint Louis Street. You will see the entrance to Saint Louis Cemetery #1 on your left after a short walk. The crypt of Barthelemy Lafon is located inside the cemetery, which you can explore once inside.

Public Transportation (Streetcar)
If starting from the Central Business District, head to the nearest streetcar stop on Canal Street. Take the streetcar that goes towards the French Quarter (the Canal Street Line). Get off at the stop at Bourbon Street. From there, walk towards Jackson Square. Exit the square towards Chartres Street, then follow the same walking directions as above to reach Saint Louis Cemetery #1.

If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one at a nearby bike rental shop. Start from the French Market and head towards the Mississippi River waterfront. Follow the bike lanes along Decatur Street until you reach Chartres Street. Turn left onto Chartres Street and continue until you reach Ursulines Avenue. Turn left again and proceed to North Rampart Street. Cross to Saint Louis Street, where you will find the entrance to Saint Louis Cemetery #1.
