Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Luxembourg City train station (Gare), exit the station and head towards Avenue de la Liberté. Walk straight along Avenue de la Liberté until you reach the Place de la Gare. From there, take the tram line 1 towards 'Boulevard F. Roosevelt' and get off at 'Philharmonie'. Once you exit the tram, walk towards the Grand Rue. Continue walking along Grand Rue, passing various shops and cafes, until you reach the place d'Armes. From place d'Armes, head towards Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes. The Palais Grand-Ducal will be located at 17 Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes, which is straight ahead.

    From the city center, you can take bus number 18 or 19 from the 'Pescatore' bus stop. Ride the bus until you reach the 'Musée d'Histoire de la Ville de Luxembourg' stop. From there, walk down Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes, and the Palais Grand-Ducal will be on your left at number 17. The bus ride should take around 10 minutes, and the walk from the stop to the palace is about 5 minutes.

    If you are near the Bock Casemates, exit and head towards the direction of the Chemin de la Corniche. Walk along the scenic path until you reach the Place de la Constitution. From there, make your way down the hill towards the city center, passing through Rue du Curé. Continue walking straight until you reach the Grand Rue, then take a left turn. Follow Grand Rue until you reach place d'Armes, then proceed to Rue du Marché-aux-Herbes where the Palais Grand-Ducal is located.
