Walking
Begin at the Fianarantsoa city center, specifically at the main market (Bazary Be). From there, head south on Avenue de l'Indépendance. After approximately 1 km, you will reach the intersection with Rue de la République. Turn right onto Rue de la République and continue for about 500 meters until you reach the bus station (Gare Routière). Here, look for a taxi-brousse heading to Ranomafana. Make sure to ask the driver if they go to Chutes Andriamamovoka specifically as some only go to Ranomafana village. Once the taxi-brousse is full, it will depart. The ride to Ranomafana will take approximately 1-1.5 hours. Upon arrival in Ranomafana, ask locals for directions to Chutes Andriamamovoka, which is about 5 km away from the village center, or you may hire a local guide.
Hiking
If you're feeling adventurous, you can consider hiking from Ranomafana village to Chutes Andriamamovoka. Once you reach Ranomafana, follow the signs or ask locals for the trail that leads to the waterfalls. The trail is approximately 5 km and will take about 1-2 hours depending on your pace. The path is often surrounded by lush vegetation, so be prepared for a scenic trek. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry enough water.
