To reach Isalo National Park from Ranomafana National Park by car, take the Route Nationale 7 (RN7) heading south. The drive is approximately 220 kilometers and will take around 4 to 5 hours. Along the way, you will pass through the town of Fianarantsoa, which is a great stop for refueling and grabbing some food. Keep an eye out for the signs for Isalo National Park as you approach the area. Once you arrive in Sakamalio, the entrance to Isalo National Park will be clearly marked.

Public Transportation
To travel from Ranomafana National Park to Isalo National Park via public transportation, first, you need to take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from Ranomafana to Fianarantsoa. The fare is usually around 5,000 Ariary (approximately $1.50). From Fianarantsoa, you will need to catch another taxi-brousse heading towards Toliara, which will take you past Isalo National Park. The fare for this leg of the journey is about 15,000 Ariary (approximately $4.50). Inform the driver of your destination (Isalo National Park) so they can drop you off at the nearest stop. The total travel time can vary but expect it to take around 6 to 8 hours in total, including waiting times.

If you're looking for a more adventurous route, consider driving part of the way and then hiking. Start by driving to the town of Sakamalio, which is near the entrance to Isalo National Park. Once you arrive, you can park your vehicle at designated areas. From there, hike towards the park entrance; the trails are well-marked.
