If you are in downtown Bangor, start at the Bangor Public Library located at 145 Harlow St. Exit the library and head south on Harlow St towards Main St. Turn left onto Main St and continue for about 0.5 miles. You will pass several shops and cafes. When you reach the intersection with Union St, turn right. Continue walking for about 0.3 miles until you reach 159 Union St, where the Bangor Historical Society is located on your left.

From the Bangor Public Library, walk to the nearest bus stop at Main St and Harlow St. Take the Metro Bus #1 towards Brewer. Ride the bus for about 5 stops and alight at the Union St stop. From there, walk about 0.2 miles down Union St. The Bangor Historical Society will be located on your right at 159 Union St.

If you have access to a bike, start at the Bangor Waterfront. Head north on the bike path along the Penobscot River. Continue along the path until you reach the intersection with Main St. Turn left onto Main St and ride for about 0.5 miles. When you reach the intersection with Union St, turn right. Continue on Union St for about 0.3 miles, and you will find the Bangor Historical Society at 159 Union St on your left.
