Ipoh Caves, Heritage And Cave Temple Tour From Kuala Lumpur
Long day, but great sites!
Ipoh is a long drive from KL! But the sites are very interesting and very worthwhile. Our guide and driver Kumar arrived at our hotel about 45 minutes late, but it was all good from there. His English was quite good and he was a safe driver. The cave visit requires an entry ticket (40 ringgits/20 for students and seniors) which is not included. There are lots of steps, but it should be possible for most people. The temples are all fascinating and beautiful.

Cameron Highlands and Ipoh Day Private Tour
Amazing Ipoh and Cameron Highland tour!
We took a 2 day guided tour, 1st day Ipoh and 2nd day Cameron Highlands. Our tour guide, Andy, was excellent. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to ensure our safety and comfort. Highlights in Ipoh was a visit to Mirror Lake (Tasik Cermin) and Gua Tempurung, a large limestone cave which we understand is the largest in the world. At the end of the 1st day, Andy recommended places to get a good coffee and options for dinner. The 2nd day in Cameron Highlands was the highlight. Andy arranged for us to visit the Mossy Forest and tea plantations as well as a strawberry farm. We had a lovely lunch at the golf course clubhouse which overlooks the green. We stayed a night in Cameron Highlands so chose to be dropped off at our hotel rather than be driven back to Ipoh. The one night stay at Zenith Hotel was magnifent and we spent the cool evening strolling around Tanah Rata and getting a sumptuous dinner.

I discovered that Ipoh is...
I discovered that Ipoh is definitely much more than it once being a central mining town. Mr Andy and his assistant Ms. Margaret, both so informative and knowledgeable, brought out many fascinating aspects of not only Ipoh but Malaysian heritage and culture. Fun fact, As we were exploring a particular temple, Mr Andy, explained why the Asian Zodiac is arraigned in its specific order with its particular animals. For me, this one bit of insight was well worth the cost of the tour and there was more! Great guides and great tour.
