If you are in Bandar Hilir, the Ruined Wall near Middelburgh Bastion is easily accessible on foot. Start at the iconic A Famosa Fort, which is located at Jalan Laksamana. From A Famosa, head north on Jalan Laksamana for about 200 meters. You will come to a junction with Jalan Quayside. Turn right onto Jalan Quayside and continue walking for approximately 300 meters until you reach the entrance of the Middelburgh Bastion. The Ruined Wall is situated just a short walk from the bastion itself, on your left. You will see the historical structure surrounded by lush greenery.

For a more leisurely approach, consider renting a bicycle, which is a popular option in Malacca. You can find bicycle rental shops around the area, especially near the Malacca River. Once you have your bicycle, head towards A Famosa Fort, then follow the same walking directions: ride north on Jalan Laksamana, turn right onto Jalan Quayside, and continue until you reach Middelburgh Bastion. The ride should take around 10 minutes, and it’s a great way to enjoy the sights along the way.
