    From the center of Hippodrome, head east on Avenue Moussa Tavele. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Avenue Moussa Tavele. Turn left and walk for about 500 meters. You will pass several shops and small cafes on your left. Keep an eye out for the large roundabout ahead; this is a key landmark. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Avenue Moussa Tavele again. After approximately 300 meters, you will see the Monument de l’indépendance on your right. The monument is well-marked and surrounded by a small park, making it a pleasant place to visit.
