    From the center of Timbuktu, head southwest on Avenue Moussa Tavele towards Rue de la République. Continue straight for about 1 km until you reach the intersection with Rue des Martyrs. Turn left onto Rue des Martyrs. After about 500 meters, keep an eye out for a small unmarked road on your right (this road leads directly to the mosque). Follow this road for another 300 meters. The Sidi Yahiya Mosque will be on your left, identifiable by its distinctive mud-brick architecture.

    If you are using a shared taxi (often referred to as a 'taxi-brousse'), head to the main taxi station in Timbuktu, located near the town center. Board a taxi heading towards the historic sites.
