From Gaithersburg, head to the Gaithersburg Transit Center located at 1 Montgomery Village Avenue. Board the Ride On Bus Route 55 towards the Shady Grove Metro Station. Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the 'Shady Grove Metro' stop. From there, transfer to the Metro Red Line towards Glenmont. Ride the Metro for about 30 minutes, disembarking at the 'King Street-Old Town' station. Once you exit, transfer to the Metrobus Route 11 towards the Mt. Vernon area and ride for about 15 minutes until you reach the 'Mt. Vernon' stop. Follow the signs to Mt. Vernon from the bus stop.
