From the Transit Center, take the Ride On Bus Route 55 towards the Shady Grove Metro Station. Once you reach Shady Grove Metro Station, buy a SmarTrip card if you don't have one, and board the Red Line train towards Glenmont. Stay on the train for about 30 minutes and get off at the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro Station. Transfer to the Yellow or Green Line towards Branch Avenue or Greenbelt, respectively. Get off at the L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station and finally transfer to the Blue Line towards Largo Town Center. Get off at the Federal Center SW Station. From there, walk towards the National Mall. The Taft Memorial Carillon is located near the intersection of 17th St NW and Constitution Ave NW.

From anywhere in Gaithersburg, find your way to the nearest Ride On Bus stop. Take the Ride On Bus Route 55 towards the Shady Grove Metro Station. From the Shady Grove Metro Station, you will need to switch to the Metro Red Line. Board the train towards Glenmont. Ride for about 30 minutes and disembark at the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro Station. Here, transfer to the Yellow or Green Line and travel to L'Enfant Plaza Metro Station. After exiting the station, follow signs to the National Mall. Walk towards the east, and you will find the Taft Memorial Carillon located at the intersection of 17th St NW and Constitution Ave NW.

If you are near the Gaithersburg City Hall, you can start your journey by walking to the nearest Metro station, which is the Shady Grove Metro Station. It’s about a 40-minute walk. Head south on South Frederick Ave (MD-355) and continue straight until you reach Shady Grove Station.
