If you're traveling by car within Sandy Point State Park, start from the main entrance of the park. Follow the main road (Sandy Point State Park Rd) until you reach the first intersection. Turn left onto Governor Ritchie Hwy (MD-2 N). Continue on this road for approximately 1.5 miles, and you will see signs leading to the Governor Ritchie Scenic Overlook on your right. There is no entrance fee for the overlook. Parking is available on-site.

Ask the driver to drop you off at the Sandy Point State Park Visitor Center. Once you arrive, you will need to walk approximately 1 mile along the park's internal trails or roadways. Follow the signs towards Governor Ritchie Hwy and look for directional signs to the overlook. Be sure to check the bus schedule for return times. The bus fare is typically around $1.00.
