Getting There

  • Public Transit

    From Waltham, walk to the Waltham Commuter Rail Station located at 25 Crescent St, Waltham, MA 02453. Take the Fitchburg Line towards Boston. Get off at the North Station stop. Once at North Station, follow the signs to the Green Line (C or E trains). Take either train towards Government Center and transfer to the Orange Line at Haymarket Station. Get on the Orange Line towards Forest Hills and get off at North Station. Once you exit North Station, walk towards Causeway St and take a left. Continue walking until you reach Congress St, then turn left. The Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum will be on your right at 306 Congress St.

  • Walking

    If you are already in downtown Waltham, walk towards Main St and head towards the Waltham Common. From there, continue onto Lexington St, which will lead you to the Waltham Commuter Rail Station. Follow the Public Transit directions from there. If you prefer not to use public transport, you can walk to the Alewife T station which is approximately a 45-minute walk and take the Alewife bus to Alewife Station, then continue to the Boston area by following the public transit directions above.

  • Bicycle

    If you're biking, start from the center of Waltham and head southeast on Main St towards the Charles River. Follow the river path until you reach the Boston University Bridge. Cross the bridge and continue on the bike path until you reach the Esplanade. Follow this path along the river until it leads you to the Museum of Science. From there, navigate to the North End and follow the directions mentioned in the Public Transit section to reach the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum.
