Getting There

Walking
Start at the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden, located in Pamplemousses. Exit the garden and head south on Royal Road (A1). Walk for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the roundabout at the intersection with the M1 highway. At the roundabout, take the third exit onto M1 towards Port Louis. Continue walking along this road for approximately 5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs that indicate you are approaching Fort Adelaide. As you get closer, you'll enter the city of Port Louis. Follow the signs directing you to Sebastopol Street. The Citadelle (Fort Adelaide) will be on your left. Look for the entrance near the top of the hill.

From Pamplemousses, walk to the nearest bus stop on Royal Road. Take the bus heading towards Port Louis. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Disembark at the bus terminal in Port Louis. From there, you can either walk or take a local taxi to Citadelle (Fort Adelaide). If walking, head southeast on Deschartres Street, then turn left onto Sebastopol Street. Continue straight, and you will reach the entrance to the Citadelle (Fort Adelaide) located at the top of the hill.
