Car
From Bandrélé, head north on the D1 road. Continue for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the roundabout at Mamoudzou. Take the second exit onto the D4 road towards Kaweni. Follow the D4 for about 3 kilometers until you reach the intersection near Kaweni. Turn right onto the D6 road and drive for another 5 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs pointing to Pointe Mahabou. Once you arrive at the designated area, you may need to park your car and walk a short distance to the viewpoint.

Public Transportation
To reach Pointe Mahabou from Bandrélé using public transport, you can take a taxi-brousse (shared minibus) from the main station in Bandrélé. Look for a taxi-brousse heading towards Mamoudzou. The fare is around 1,000 XPF (approximately 9 USD). The journey will take about 30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off near Kaweni, where you can then either walk the remaining distance to Pointe Mahabou or catch another taxi-brousse to the D6 road. Be sure to confirm with the driver before getting on.

If you choose to walk from Kaweni, head down the D6 road for approximately 2 kilometers. Follow the signs to Pointe Mahabou. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water, as the walk can be strenuous in parts. It’s advisable to plan your walk during daylight hours for safety.
