Getting There

• Car

  If you're traveling by car, head towards Silao de la Victoria in the state of Guanajuato. Use GPS navigation to enter the address: Cerro del Cubilete S/N, El Cubilete, Silao de la Victoria, 36290. Once you get close, follow the signs for 'Cerro del Cubilete' which will guide you up the mountain. There is a parking area available near the shrine, but be aware that it can fill up quickly on weekends and holidays.

• Public Transportation

  To reach the Shrine of Christ the King using public transportation, start by taking a bus to Silao de la Victoria from major bus terminals in central Mexico, such as Terminal de Autobuses de Guanajuato or Terminal de Autobuses de León. From Silao, you can take a taxi or a local bus to the base of Cerro del Cubilete. Be sure to confirm with the driver that they will take you to the shrine, as some may only go partway. The taxi fare from Silao to the shrine is typically around $150 MXN.

• Walking

  Once you arrive at the parking area or the bus drop-off point, you will likely need to walk the remaining distance to the shrine. The path is well-marked, but it can be steep. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and carry water, especially if you are visiting during warmer months. The walk can take approximately 20-30 minutes depending on your pace.
