Start at the Tijuana Cultural Center (Centro Cultural Tijuana - CECUT). From here, take the Metrobus Line 1 towards the 'El Chaparral' stop. Get off at the last stop and cross the border into the United States at the San Ysidro Port of Entry. After crossing, follow the signs to the San Ysidro Trolley Station and take the Blue Line trolley towards 'Santee'. Get off at the 'Santee Town Center' stop.

From the Santee Town Center trolley stop, walk northeast on Mission Gorge Road for about 1.5 miles until you reach the intersection with Magnolia Avenue. Turn left on Magnolia Avenue and continue for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Otay Mountain Truck Trail entrance. The trailhead is well-marked, and you can begin your hike up the truck trail. The hike is approximately 3 miles to the lookout point, with a moderate elevation gain.
