If you are in the heart of Mount Pleasant, start by heading towards the nearest public transportation stop, such as the Mount Pleasant Transit Center. Once there, take the bus heading towards Charleston. After approximately 30 minutes, you will arrive at the Charleston downtown area. From the bus stop, walk east on Meeting Street, and when you reach Broad Street, turn left. Continue walking until you reach East Bay Street, then turn right. The United States Custom House will be on your left at 200 E Bay St.

If you prefer biking, rent a bike from any local bike rental shop. Start at the Mount Pleasant Waterfront Park and follow the bike path south along the waterfront. This will lead you towards the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge. Cross the bridge and follow the bike lanes into downtown Charleston. Once you reach East Bay Street, turn left and ride until you find the United States Custom House at 200 E Bay St, which will be on your left.
