From downtown Muskegon, head to the nearest bus stop on Western Ave. Board the Muskegon Area Transit System (MATS) bus Route 3 towards Lake Michigan. Stay on the bus until you reach the stop at the intersection of Lake Harbor Rd and Norton Ave. This will take approximately 25 minutes. Once you get off, walk south on Lake Harbor Rd for about 0.5 miles until you reach the Gillette Sand Dune Visitor Center at 6585 Lake Harbor Rd.

If you're near the Muskegon Lake, start your bike ride on the Lakeshore Trail heading north. Follow the trail until you reach the intersection with Lake Harbor Rd.
