The Maritime & Seafood Industry Museum, located on the eastern tip of the Biloxi peninsula, is dedicated to preserving the maritime history of Biloxi and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Established in 1986, the museum showcases the area's heritage through a variety of exhibits, artifacts, and an extensive collection of photographs. The museum's exhibits cover a wide range of topics, including shrimping, oystering, recreational fishing, wetlands, and marine resources. Visitors can also learn about boat building, net-making, and the impact of hurricanes on the Gulf Coast. A key feature is the 30-foot wooden vessel, Nydia, built in the late 1800s, which is showcased in the main atrium. The museum also houses the Wade Guice Hurricane Museum, which features exhibits and a theater dedicated to the impact of hurricanes, including Hurricane Camille in 1969, on the Gulf Coast. The museum has also replicated two 65-ft Biloxi Schooners to bring the local maritime history to life. Furthermore, the museum sponsors the Sea and Sail Adventure Camp and the Billy Creel Memorial Wooden Boat Show.
