    The primary way to access Ship Island is via the Ship Island Excursions ferry from Gulfport. The ferry departs from the Gulfport Yacht Harbor at Jones Park, located at the intersection of U.S. Hwy 90 and U.S. Hwy 49. Purchase tickets online or at the harbor. Arrive at least 30 minutes prior to departure. The ferry ride is approximately one hour each way. As of July 2025, round-trip ferry tickets cost approximately $44 for adults, $38 for children (ages 3-12), and $42 for seniors (65+) and military personnel (with ID). Infants (2 and under) are free. A family package is available online on weekdays for $39 per adult and $33 per child, including a chair and umbrella rental on the island. Parking at the Gulfport Yacht Harbor is free.
