Getting There

    If you are driving from Clarksdale, head east on US-61 S for about 25 miles. Continue straight until you reach the junction with LA-434 in Lacombe. Turn right onto LA-434 and continue for approximately 3 miles. The Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge will be on your left.

    From Greenville, take US-82 E for about 30 miles until you reach the exit for I-55 S. Merge onto I-55 S and travel for 20 miles. Take exit 12A to merge onto I-10 E toward New Orleans. After about 25 miles, take exit 265 for LA-434 toward Lacombe. Turn left onto LA-434 and drive for about 3 miles. The refuge will be on your left.

  • Public Transportation

    From Jackson, take a Greyhound bus to New Orleans. Once in New Orleans, transfer to a local bus that goes to Lacombe or arrange a rideshare service. Upon arriving in Lacombe, ask for LA-434. The Big Branch Marsh National Wildlife Refuge will be located at 61389 LA-434, just a short walk from the bus stop.

  • Car

    If you're traveling from Baton Rouge, take I-10 E toward New Orleans. After approximately 70 miles, take exit 265 for LA-434 toward Lacombe. Turn left onto LA-434 and continue for about 3 miles. The refuge will be on your left.
