Getting There

• Public Transit - Bus

  From Independence, head to the nearest bus stop that services the KCATA (Kansas City Area Transportation Authority). You can catch the bus route #24 at the nearest stop. Ride this bus towards 'State Line' and get off at the 'North Oak Trafficway & 12th Street' stop. From there, you will need to walk approximately 0.5 miles west along 12th Street until you reach Parkville Nature Sanctuary located at 100 E 12 St, Parkville, MO 64152.

• Bicycle

  If you're cycling from Independence, start on the Blue River Trail heading north. Continue on the trail until you reach the intersection of 12th Street and North Oak Trafficway. Turn right onto 12th Street and cycle west for about 2 miles. Parkville Nature Sanctuary is located at 100 E 12 St, Parkville, MO 64152, just off the road. Ensure you have a bike lock to secure your bicycle when you arrive.

• Walking

  For those preferring to walk from downtown Independence, start at the Independence Square. Head north on Main Street until you reach the intersection with 12th Street. Turn left onto 12th Street and continue walking straight for about 3 miles. You will pass through neighborhoods and some parks along the way. Eventually, you’ll arrive at Parkville Nature Sanctuary, located at 100 E 12 St, Parkville, MO 64152.
