Discover more about Țaul Park

Located approximately 200 km north of Chisinau, near the village of Țaul, Țaul Park stands as the largest park in Moldova, encompassing 46.2 hectares. Established in the early 1900s by Ivan Pommer, a Russian landowner and financier, the park was designed by landscape architect I. Vladislav-Padalco, who created a unique arboretum with species from across the globe. The park is divided into two main sections: the upper part, featuring the Pommer family's rustic residence with avenues and flower beds, and the lower part, resembling a forest with tree groupings typical of various geographical regions. With over 12.5 km of paths and alleys, visitors can explore the diverse flora, including exotic species like Canadian Douglas fir, Japanese cherry, and various larches and firs. While the Pommer mansion and other historic buildings within the park have suffered from neglect over the years, the park remains a popular destination for picnics and nature walks. The park's unique landscape design and diverse collection of plant species make it a notable landmark in Moldova.
