Discover more about New National Museum of Monaco - Villa Paloma

The New National Museum of Monaco (NMNM) – Villa Paloma, inaugurated in 2010, is one of two exhibition spaces of the NMNM, the other being Villa Sauber. This pearly-white villa, built in 1913 for an American near the Jardin Exotique, offers a unique blend of art and architecture. Villa Paloma is dedicated to contemporary art, decorative arts, and photography, hosting temporary exhibitions that reflect the NMNM's commitment to acquiring contemporary works. Past exhibitions have included retrospectives of Erik Bulatov and Yinka Shonibare, as well as thematic exhibitions exploring architecture, urban planning, and the history of ceramics. In the summer of 2025, the museum will host "Les Années folles de Coco Chanel," an exhibition exploring Gabrielle Chanel's prolific creative era during the 1920s on the Côte d'Azur. The villa itself is a sight to behold, featuring stained glass windows by local artist Fassi Cadet, period cornices, columns, and mosaics. Its "antique-style" gardens, created by Octave Godard, a student of landscape designer Édouard André, provide a serene escape with spectacular views over Monaco. A mediation space at the garden level offers digital content and information about "The work of the month". Visitors can explore the museum's collections and exhibitions, participate in workshops and guided tours, and enjoy the tranquil surroundings. The museum is open daily during exhibition periods, with extended hours in July and August. Admission is free every Sunday and for visitors under 26, students, and other eligible groups.
