    To reach Chaney Glacier, start from the Many Glacier area of Glacier National Park, where you can find the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn. From there, take the Swiftcurrent Pass Trail. Follow the trail that leads you past Swiftcurrent Lake and continue towards the pass. The trail will gradually ascend, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks. After approximately 3 miles, you will reach the junction with the Grinnell Glacier Trail. At this point, you will need to veer left and continue towards Grinnell Glacier. Keep an eye on the signage as you navigate the trails. As you hike further, you will enjoy breathtaking vistas of the glaciers and valleys. After another 1.5 miles, you will reach Grinnell Glacier. From there, Chaney Glacier is located slightly to the northeast. The final approach requires navigating rocky terrain, so be cautious and aware of your surroundings. The total hike is about 8 miles one way, so plan accordingly for your return trip.

After about 2 miles, you will reach a junction where you can either continue to Grinnell Glacier or take the trail that leads to Chaney Glacier. If you choose to go to Grinnell Glacier first, you can enjoy the views and then backtrack to this junction to head towards Chaney Glacier. The hike to Chaney Glacier from this junction is more challenging and requires careful navigation, as it involves traversing rocky paths and possibly some light scrambling. Keep track of your time and be aware of the weather conditions as you hike.
