Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the center of Budva, head towards the waterfront promenade, known as the 'Mogren Beach Promenade.' Start from the main square, Trg Slobode, and walk down towards the sea. As you reach the promenade, turn left. Continue walking along the promenade, enjoying the view of the Adriatic Sea. After about a 10-minute walk, you'll notice the Citadel rising above the beach. As you approach, follow the signs leading to the Old Town (Stari Grad). Enter the Old Town through the main gate, and the Citadel will be directly ahead. It’s a short walk from there, taking around 5 more minutes.

    If you are near the Budva Bus Station, exit the station and head southeast on the main road. Walk straight for about 15 minutes until you reach the promenade. Once you arrive at the waterfront, turn right and walk along the promenade towards the Old Town. After approximately 10 minutes, you will see the Citadel as you approach the entrance to the Old Town. Follow the signs to the Citadel, and it will be just a few minutes from there.

    For those staying at hotels like the Slovenska Plaza or similar, exit the hotel and head towards the beach. Walk along the beach path heading towards the Old Town. After about 20 minutes, you will arrive at the entrance of the Old Town. Once inside, follow the winding streets, and you will reach the Citadel in about 5 minutes, located at the western edge of the Old Town.
